L017 is Angelo Bramanti and Giuseppe Siracusa and they prefer the use of waste materials and recycled objects to create their artworks. For their “Through The Barricades” piece they’ve used vinyl records. I quite like it but I’m not sure about the frame.

As music-related poster art has evolved over the last decade from Frank Kozik’s exploding grunge overload, Jason Munn must be its best progenitor.

His style is elegant, thoughtful, and has the effect of making you want to own every one you see. They’ve recently been collected in an excellent book entitled The Small Stakes, which is the name in which he uses for his work.

Created by Jose Ferrufino of l'ECAL (Ecole Cantonal d'Art de Lausane) .. this is how the music box works: The motor gives movement to the cylinder. The pins on the cylinder hit the blades of the keyboard. It is this action that creates the melody.

The music box SLIGHTLY WINDY uses this movement to animate the barley. It translates the lightness of nature being lulled by wind and music.

Most of us discard cassette tapes when we are through with them, but not all, there are always exceptions. And here the exception is artist iri5, who turns them into work of art. He has created portraits of well-known musicians such as Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison and Ian Brown, … from recycled cassette tapes. He specializes in using non traditional media such as old books, cassettes, playing cards, magazines, credit cards and many more or whatever he can find. He prefers to work with unusual things, older material or 'things that have a mind of their own'. Wow! Perhaps this explains how one can connect music with visual art by using a simple medium like an old cassette tape.
